Green is Gold – Delivering Solutions to our Climate and Economic Crises

Our economy is in trouble. Falling home prices, foreclosures, bank failures, a weaker dollar, and layoffs in banking, construction, and manufacturing sectors are all indicators of serious economic strain. At the same time, we face a growing climate crisis that requires us to rapidly invest in new energy infrastructure, cleaner sources of power, and more efficient use of electricity and fuels in order to cut global warming pollution.

California has its own green stimulus – AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act

Seizing the initiative, California’s leaders have embarked on a bold new path that will help lead the state toward a brighter, more prosperous future. At the heart of this opportunity is AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act, which will fundamentally change the way we produce and consume energy, significantly lessen our dependence on foreign oil, and dramatically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Join us on May 20 for a conversation with Mary Nichols, Chairman of the California Air Resources Board, Vinod Kholsa of venture capital firm Khosla Ventures, Tarkan Maner, CEO of WYSE Technology and Tom Werner, CEO of SunPower. San Jose Mercury News Editorial Page Editor Barbara Marshman will moderate a discussion on the economic opportunities presented by the implementation of AB 32.

Green is Gold will bring together global corporate leaders, policy makers, government managers, environmental advocates, and many others to discuss the future of Silicon Valley’s leadership on environmental issues and economic development.
